This course is for safety professionals, supervisors, trainers, and others responsible for safety education. A basic understanding of workplace safety and fall protection is recommended. It's designed for those working on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers projects that require compliance with the EM 385-1-1 Safety and Health Program.

This course blends interactive classroom learning with hands-on practice focused on fall protection systems and procedures. You’ll work directly with the trainer materials, practice delivering lessons, lead discussions, and receive feedback. By the end, you’ll be ready to confidently deliver the prescribed course to others.

Each participant receives a complete instructor kit with everything needed to teach FT-Xpert fall protection courses. The kit includes trainer guides, course outlines, equipment lists, testing materials, and access to the FT-Xpert Presenter Tool. You’ll also get access to the FT-Xpert Trainer Hub for managing students and certifications, plus an initial supply of student workbooks for your first class.

Upon successful completion, you’ll earn a certificate to teach FT-Xpert Authorized Person, Authorized Person Advanced, Competent Person, and EM 385 Competent Person courses. Certification is valid for two years and can be renewed through a convenient, instructor-led online recertification session that updates both trainer and end-user credentials.
