Is the FT-Xpert™ Certified Trainer Program Right for You?

The FT-Xpert Certified Trainer Program allows you to have in-house delivery of compliant fall protection training using ready-made materials and ongoing support. It's best for professional trainers or organizations with ongoing fall safety training needs, offering
flexibility and long-term savings. However, it requires a qualified instructor and consistent course delivery to maintain certification.

Do you have 25+ workers who need training?

If so, certifying an internal trainer can save time and money. Note: FT-Xpert-certified trainers must teach at least three courses per year to maintain certification.

Do you have a high turnover, or do you use a lot of temporary workers?

An in-house trainer allows for timely, on-demand training without relying on external schedules.

Do you need to teach multiple training levels (Authorized, Competent, Inspector)?

FT-Xpert Certified Trainers can deliver various course levels as needed, offering flexibility and consistency.

Do you have someone comfortable teaching?

Candidates must be confident, communicative, and comfortable leading training. This is a pass/fail program. Those who are uneasy with public speaking may struggle.

Should you certify more than one trainer?

Limit certification to no more than a few individuals. This improves consistency and allows trainers to build experience.

Do you already have your own fall protection course?

This program is only for delivering FallTech-developed courses. It doesn’t certify you to teach your own course.

Can FT-Xpert Certified Trainers train anyone?

Yes. Anyone fluent in English (or Spanish, if Spanish materials and trainers are available) can be trained by an FT-Xpert Certified Trainer.

What are the FT-Xpert Certified Trainer requirements?

Trainers must follow the FT-Xpert curriculum without skipping or altering content. Each trainee must receive a FallTech workbook. Trainers can adapt their delivery style but not the course content.

Which FT-Xpert™ Certified Trainer Program Should You Choose?

Once you've decided the FT-Xpert Certified Trainer path is right for you, choose the course that matches your team’s needs and your capacity to prepare. While teaching more courses may seem ideal, each program requires time, practice, and commitment. FallTech provides clear materials, but trainers must be ready to invest in preparation.

Review the two options below to find the best fit.
Authorized Person Series
This entry-level Certified Trainer Course begins with Competent Person training, then prepares attendees to teach FT-Xpert 4-hour Authorized Person and 8-hour Authorized Person Advanced courses. It’s the most accessible option, focusing on two related courses that are straightforward to learn and teach, making it ideal for new hires and refresher training.
Competent Person Series
This comprehensive option starts with Competent Person training and prepares attendees to teach the FT-Xpert 4-hour Authorized Person, 8-hour Authorized Person Advanced, 16-hour Competent Person, and 4-hour Equipment Inspector courses. Most content builds on the Competent Person curriculum, creating a strong foundation across all topics. It’s an intensive program that demands commitment, active participation, and extra preparation time. Choose this path only if your team needs Competent Person-level training onsite.
